Project 1 African Diaspora Resettlement and Transition Assistance Program (ADRATAP) ADRATAP taps into human capital within Africans in the Diaspora using portion of foreign aids meant for African continent to provide for resettlement and transition assistance to those who are interested and willing to relocate to Africa to start an international venture. For over fifty years, more than $650 billion has being spent in foreign aid to Africa which has failed awfully to alleviate the long-suffering condition of Africa. If these billions of dollars were truly intended for the development of Africa, there is good reason to believe that substantive changes are long over due and ADRATAP will serve as alternative. Therefore, ADRATAP proposes that, the timing is now right for the funding community to use portion of its foreign aid to provide financial support for skilled professional Africans in the Diaspora willing to engage in direct trade between Africa and their host countries. ADRATAP is currently being developed to be presented before the OECD, World Bank, IFC and UN, OAU, ECOWAS and some funder Gulf States. Project 2 Effective Leadership Mentor Program (ELMP) Effective Leadership Mentor Program (ELMP) is designed to recruit past leaders with proven track records of effective and selfless leadership to become active mentors for future generations. This is a process where researches is conducted and obtain records of an effective past leader and replicate or modify his or her leadership model. Thereby, he or she is chosen to become the spokesperson promoting the model through public speaking engagements, forums and meetings. The goal is to design and implement a mentoring and development model that will provide future generation of African leaders the knowledge, skills, exposure, and analytical abilities to become effective and selfless leaders. ELM program will build the leadership mentoring models on core competencies and principles of leadership, and will, on an ongoing basis, evaluate their effectiveness in leadership development. It will identify challenges to developing effective leadership and identify strategies that might address those challenges. The importance of ELM program is developing principles of leadership and implementing strategies that cultivates and encourage effective and selfless future leaders.
Project 3 Scrap Metal Recycle Project Over 40 million electronic pieces become obsolete every year and most of it winds up in Africa. These pieces are filled with materials that are hazardous to the environment such as lead, cadmium, lead oxide, barium and mercury. When melted down, the machines release even more toxins into the air, ground, and water. With the market for e-waste expected to top $11 billion by 2009, it is important to have a standards and methodologies for recycling waste in Africa. PANED’s Scrap Metal Recycle Project is a proposal to undertake the sequencing of field operations and the dismantlement, removal, and on-site storage of contaminated equipment, cell components, and scrap material from the environment in Africa. Scrap Metal Recycle Project includes contiguous radiologically-contaminated and non-contaminated scrap methods used to achieve the safe removal and disposition of metal and miscellaneous items contained in the environment. The methods of undertaking will consist of mobilization, performing nuclear criticality safety evaluations, moving scrap metal to storage facility, inspection and segregation, sampling and characterization, scrap metal sizing, packaging and disposal, and finally demobilization. Preventing the intermingling of characteristically hazardous and non-hazardous wastes promotes waste minimization, allowing for the metal and materials to be segregated into separate waste streams.
Project 4 Mechanized Agriculture MA Project is to develop agricultural management system that promotes variable management practices within a field according to site or soil conditions. And employs a system engineering approach to crop production where inputs are made on an "as needed basis. Not only does this project address many environmental and social concerns, but it offers innovative and economically viable opportunities for growers, laborers, consumers, policymakers and many others in the entire food system.
